Make learning Dutch online fun and easy to understand.

Nice to meet. My name is Petty van Katwijk and I am the founder and teacher at Your Second Language. I am a Dutch native, born and raised in the south of the Netherlands.

I have always been interested in languages and cultures. No surprise that I chose to study International Business and Languages. During my studies I have spend two semesters in Spain and experienced the importance of learning the local language. Also on my 5-months trip through South America and in my job as a tourguide in Ecuador, speaking and understanding the local language has made my social life and work experience abroad a lot easier and better. It was during this trip that I decided to really do something with my passion for languages and cultures. Back home I started volunteering at a Dutch second language school. After several jobs in international sales, I started my post bachelor degree in Dutch second language teaching. Since my love for teaching kept growing I decided to go out on my own and founded YSL.

Teaching Dutch gives me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to help them integrate into Dutch culture, which I am passionate about! In the past three years I have been teaching more than 200 students who have enjoyed my classes and many of them return for the next level of learning.
